I wasn't expecting much by just looking at the cover, then I read the book description and I boosted it to the top if my TBR list. Franklin is known for finding things. His mom depended on him to always find his sister, who turned tricks, when she didn't come home. That quality gets him jobs. He's called in by the elves to find out what is wrong with Santa and return him to his senses so that he can deliver the presents. What Franklin finds upon entering Santa's castle are secrets, bad things, that Dinky, the main elf has hidden for the sake of Christmas and Santa. A quick, enjoyable read. The writing flowed well and I will definitely check to see if Mr. Freese has written anything else.Product details

If your taste for Christmas stories is thoroughly dipped in darkness like mine, this quick read is the gift that keeps on giving. There’s something wrong at the top of the world and Freese does an excellent job of keeping you intrigued and guessing until he reveals it. I read this priceless gem every year.
