I found this book to be a thoroughly enjoyable read. The little girl (Melody) is delightful and I loved Aidan's and Colin's interactions with her. I don't see how some other reviewers are describing this as a comedy. It does have some humorous scenes but nothing LOL funny (at least not in my opinion). To me it is more a traditional historical romance with requisite evil villain (quite evil, in fact) and an adorable little girl thrown in.

I have not read any other of Ms. Bradley's books, but I very much enjoyed this one. It is an easy read and after zipping through it, I immediately bought book 2 (and am already looking forward to book 3 which comes out tomorrow).

Besides having problem with the switch of focus from one generation to the next, also with the time gap between the first and second encounter of the protagonists. I also have problems with the language, and the probability of the story line..........
The evolutions of the characters from one book to the next is gripping, get you ready for the next one.
This item arrived as described and the price was right. This is much easier than going out to used book stores.
Really great story. I loved the scenes with Melody. The misfit family atmosphere was terrific. I love stories with children involved in them. Looking forward to reading more.

Her and Julia Quinn are the greatest women at romance. I love every one of their books. A great book in the start of a series you should finish. I'm on the last book now and I'm going to be so sad when my characters are gone.
I like the books Ms. Bradley writes, especially because she uses her characters in subsequent books. It gives them added personalities.
